The current generation says their business life is moving so fast that it's difficult to keep up, let alone plan or improve. An example is globalisation. For some it is the key to survival, for others it is the root of all evil. Who is correct?Service firms have emerged as the growth area in terms of revenues and employment. People are leaving the large corporations and establishing their own service firms. They are the free agents of the new economy. With experience in service firms ranging from one office in a small city to the truly global firm with offices in most developed countries and thousands of employees, we have the understanding required to make these firms succeed. Whilst we concentrate our efforts on firms of accountants, lawyers and consultants, these can easily be transferred to other organisations. Our philosophy is that you know your business and could probably reach your own conclusions about what would make your firm successful, you just need some stimulation to begin the journey and to keep on track throughout the process. That's where we become involved. Our view on consulting centers around the fact that ideas generated internally enjoy a higher level of support and hence a greater chance of success. Initially we'll discuss the client's requirements, assist in devising a strategy and then work with the client to amend, implement and review. Our preference is for the client to establish an internal taskforce to be responsible for developing the strategy. Depending on the resources our role is sometimes expanded to include more operational issues if necessary. We recommend initial meetings to be held on-site, however, much of the work can then be done off-site with regular updates via telephone or electronic methods. This helps to minimise costs and allows us to work with businesses in any location. |
